Customer Rating: Summary: You are a genius, Darwin! where do you get all these ideas? Comment: Magnifico! A most beautiful phantasy story around a 'real life' hospital friendship of a 5 year old immigrant girl (the 'actress' is from Romania, her movie script family seems to be Bulgarian (?)) and a suicidal injured stuntman in California during silent movie times. The man tells the girl stories, which drag them both into colourful adventures all over the world and which get more and more mixed up with events in the hospital and the friends' real life. A major source of charm is the little girl's cute immigrant English.
I did not expect to like the film so much; my daughter convinced me that I needed to watch it by pointing out that Darwin and Wallace have parts in it and that it is partly set in Bali. Among other photogenic locations.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing!! Comment: I absolutely love this movie! The story is really unique and the visuals are stunning.
Customer Rating: Summary: "The Fall" is an experience worth having. Comment: Blu-ray is a great thing; the image is crisp and beautiful. However, up to this point, I had only seen one thing that I would say had to be seen in blu-ray. That was Planet Earth. The Fall is now the second. This is one of the single most beautiful films you will ever see.
Customer Rating: Summary: Remove all expectations...may take multiple viewings Comment: When I initially watched the film, I didn't like it very well. I watched it a second time (approximately 1 week from the first viewing) and it was better for me.
I was anticipating a 'Disney-type' film with a dramatic twist, but find it better if I remove all expectations and simply watch it for what it is...
However, I wouldn't consider it a 'block-buster,' merely a film that is good from a 'b-list' perspective.
Cheers! ;)
Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome! Comment: This movie is incredible! The story is so touching and the actors all did an amazing job. It was filmed in I believe it is 18 different locations which really makes the cinematography astounding; there are so many vivid colors and amazing architecture. Plus, the soundtrack is beautiful. You will not be disappointed in this movie.
