Customer Rating: Summary: Utter piece of junk Comment: My office is overheated and I need something small to sit on my desk. I chose this fan because the other reviewers described it as quiet. In fact it's comically noisy; people keep walking into my office and laughing at the sound, which resembles a toy plan trying to take off. It requires batteries -- although there is a jack, no cord came with it. Ten minutes after turning it on the speed is noticeable slower and it revs intermittently. 15 minutes after turning it on I'm tossing it in my trash bin. What a waste of landfill.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good little fan if it is built right. Comment: I purchased one of these fans, but they accidentally sent me two of the fans in the mail. The first fan I tried was terrible. The air flow from the fan was very weak. It also made a lot of noise and vibrated a lot. The second fan I tried worked much better. It was nice and quiet. The air flow was much stronger. When I look at the bad fan I saw that its fan blades were pressing against the motor housing. This fan works well if it is built correctly, but it appears that the quality for this company is inconsistent.
Customer Rating: Summary: It Works Comment: I use this in the car on hot days and have been using it for a few weeks now. So far so good.
What I like about it:
--It's good at moving the air and creating a nice breeze, even on low speed
--It's quiet, even on high speed
--It can be used with rechargeable batteries, and because it takes batteries, that makes it great during a summertime power outage which is another reason I bought it
--You can aim it (up or down angles)
--AC power option (have to provide your own adapter)
--It's cheap!
--Shipped fast
What I don't like about it:
--Because of the batteries, it's pretty heavy for it's size, so not easily portable
--Made of a cheap-feeling plastic
--You can aim it but the plastic clicks pretty loudly while doing so
--It's a little big, which is technically a pro and con for me; bigger means more air moving, which is great, but it also means I can't easily store it where I use it (in the car)
--Shipping cost rivaled the cost of the fan itself and the package wasn't adequately padded
All said, I'm pretty happy with this fan and plan to buy another as a backup.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just what I wanted Comment: I needed something for work that was small with good power and was battery operated. The fan is quiet when running so it is not a distraction. I have enjoyed it very much.
Customer Rating: Summary: Inexpensive and Effective Comment: I am entirely satisfied with this product. For an inexpensive $7, this two D-cell battery-powered fan efficiently produces more of a breeze at my desk that a powered fan of similar size that I have. Yet the breeze is engineered so as not to ruffle papers on the desk. The housing is a pleasing light gray, with the fan itself and accents a dark gray.
The fan can be set to high, low, and off and can be positioned any position from vertical to horizontal. The front of the fan housing measures 17 cm, whereas the fan inside is 11 cm. The base is a mere 13 cm wide by 7 cm deep, so it takes up very little desk space. The fan weighs less than 500 grams, with the batteries inserted, so it is a "breeze" to lift it with one finger and carry it wherever you like.
There is a plug for a 3-volt AC adapter (not supplied), but since the fan uses only two D-cell batteries, which are said to last around 25 hours (if alkaline, like Duracell), it hardly seems necessary to use AC power.
