It's a simple idea: provide brilliant stereo recording in an easy-to-use, ultra-portable device. The H2 is the only portable recorder with 3 mic capsules onboard for mid-side recording. A directional mic is in the center (mid) and two directional mics (side) are positioned left and right. The audio is decoded instantly, bringing these three signals together for unparalleled stereo imaging. One button recording, gain controls on the side and an intuitive user interface mean you can always capture the moment. Set your levels, push record and go. The H2 records on Secure Digital (SD) media and a 512MB SD card is included. With a 4GB SD memory card, the H2 provides up to 2 hours recording at 96kHz, 6 hours at 44.1kHz, or up to a staggering 138 hours in MP3. Play your recordings on your home audio system with its 1/8" stereo output or listen to your masterpiece with headphones. Or, use the H2's USB interface to move your recordings to your Mac or PC to listen, edit and share. 512MB SD memory card included; Accommodates up to 4GB SD optional memory cards Auto Gain Control (AGC) for pristine recordings Auto Start function means you're always ready to record Low-cut filter eliminates wind noise On-board chromatic Guitar/Bass tuner Two standard alkaline AA batteries will give you 4 hours of continuous operation and a backlit display means it's always easy to use in any situation Pocketable - Weighs only 4 ounces

Customer Rating: Summary: Little in size, big on results Comment: Zoom H2 Handy Portable Stereo Recorder I was desperate to find a small, powerful recorder suitable for recording lectures in a huge room and with some trepidation I chose this digital recorder.
It does an exemplary job!! Quality of voice is super and clear. It is so sensitive that I put it on a tripod and leave it alone. With a 2 GB card it never runs out of recording time. Easy to hook up to computer and burn a disc. Small enough to put in shirt pocket.
A few cons. It is like a computer and took time to figure out how to set it up for my needs. The LCD screen is so small, that with my old eyes, I have to use a magnifying glass. But, I will not give it up!!

Customer Rating: Summary: all kinds of uses Comment: We used this for piano practice, recording the lessons and then downloading it on MP3 players, so you can listen to it.
Learning lines for a play... you can put a break in wherever you want...easy to skip to the relevant section.
The first time it took some time to get used to the download protocol, but once you know what to do it is easy. Works with both Apple and PC and my children (11 and 10) can work it too.
It took me by surprise how light it was, but so far (almost 1 year) it is still working.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does a very nice job! Comment: I've owned various digital recorders through the years to do field recording for our morning show but the H2 is probably the most versatile. And it does exactly what it claims it will do and gives you great audio to boot. After you get used to the quirky interface you can pretty much use this thing to record almost any thing. The built in mics are very well engineered and reproduce voice and music very well. And it connects to my Mac's without a hitch. And you can't beat the value for the price. Invest in a few extra rechargeable batteries and extra memory card or two for those extra long sessions.
The H2 comes with EVERYTHING you'll need including a cute little wind sock for use on those windy days.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love, Love, Love it! Comment: You can hold this recorder in your hand, mount is on a mic stand (adapter included), or set it on a table (stand included). The sound is quality and tracks are easy to upload to your computer as stereo 2 track. If you record in surround sound you get (f) front and (r) sound which must stay together. When I upload them in Vista it doesn't want to treat them as a single pair. It wants to seperate them. But then again I have the 2006 version of Vista and we all know what a nightmare it's been. Push record button and start talking, singing, playing an instrument or whatever. Look at the screen and see your levels. Push the record button one more time and start recording. It's that easy, really! ALSO, if you could add a little reverb to the voice you could make a good little music master - really! Buy this, you won't be disapointed.
Customer Rating: Summary: great for cheap! Comment: I am a classical musician and I was really impressed with the sound quality of the Zoom. You can set the levels so you don't get feed back or that annoying buzzy sound that always happens when I have tried to record my Horn playing on cheaper recorders. It's also easy to transfer onto i-tunes! I'm still exploring all the options but so far I am very happy! Beware though: If you are planning on recording right away also get a big sound card, the company provides one but it doesn't have much memory on there.
