Comment: Speck Black Gel Skin Holster Case is as advertised. Easy to get on/off. Gives you a good grip on the phone. Protects the iPhone well. Love it. It was especially hard to find one that had a good clip to add on when needed and remove when not. Highly recommend this product.

Summary: There is a basic design flaw here with this cover.
Comment: I bought this case very recently and started to have a very big problem. Whenever I am on the phone, I found that the other person on the line could not hear me. While talking, my cheeks were pressing the Mute button on the iPhone and the other person kept on saying..Are you there? How embarrasing. I thought that it was a design flaw with the iPhone. However I found out that the problem is with this case/cover. There is a sensor around the receiver of the iPhone that makes the screen go dark whenever you are talking on the phone. This makes the screen inactive and you can talk freely without worrying about pushing the mute button.
However if you have this case/cover on your iPhone, the way the case is designed, it covers the sensor(s) and the sensor(s) stop working. Now when you are talking on the phone, the iPhone's screen does not go dark, as it normally would. The touch screen buttons ( Mute, Speaker ) etc. are all ON and as soon as you bring the phone close to your ears, you will find your cheeks touching the Mute button and the other person being confused about the fact that you are no longer audible.
I feel like cutting the rubber around the receiver area completely to make it work. This case basically makes the phone feature of iPhone unusable. Hence, I am rating this phone case as a Product with a Flawed Design. I would be very happy to remove my review from Amazon.com and post a follow up review if the company replaces my cover with a product that works.

Summary: Fits the 3G, but doesn't work with 3G
Comment: Based on a previous reviewer here who indicated that this IPH-BLK-TS case would fit the iPhone 3G, I took a flyer and bought it.
This Speck case does fit the iPhone 3G very nicely.
But, and this is a big BUT, it interferes with proper operation of the 3G. The design of the case blocks the ambient light sensor at the top-left corner of the front panel, so every time you unlock the 3G it thinks it is in a dark room. Hence, it dims the backlight (assuming the Auto-brightness feature is enabled).
Worse, the case prevents the 'phone at face' feature from working. The iPhone 3G is designed to deactivate the touch-screen and blank the display when you are (a) on a call and (b) holding it next to your ear. This clever feature prevents the side of your face from inadvertently activating the various features (Keypad, Mute, Contacts, etc) that are available while on a call. And by deactivating the backlight as well, battery life is extended.
The Speck IPH-BLK-TS effectively disables these features. But it is a nice case, and good value now that the price has been reduced. I made a couple of small 'surgical adjustments', and was able to restore full operation of the sensors on the 3G.

Comment: I looked at all the other reviews before I bought this one. The case slips over the phone easily and stays on well. I don't use the belt clip much because I keep it in my purse. I really just wanted something that would make my phone easier to find in the bottom of the purse. But the case is easy to grip, and with a screen protector it works great!

Summary: Best case for your buck
Comment: My husband and I spent hours looking for the right phone case on the internet and in several stores with nothing except disappointment. I came across this item and it looked promising so we just received it and we love it! I am so happy that we waited and purchased this phone cover perfect fit, doesn't interfere with reception and is much more comfortable to hold the phone now for long periods of time. Skin is very soft yet and not bulky. If you need an iphone case look no further than the speck.
