Customer Rating: Summary: Too COOL... Comment: What a great way to light the pool bottom. Lights, colors, movement, a floating disco ball. I'm glad that my girls 6&8 haven't figured that they can bring it in the house( I tried it when they weren't around.) We have a 12foot pool with 32"of water and it is perfect. This just adds another dimention to the water, to play, to snorkeling ,and to 'Pool Party'!! Plus, this light is in the pool, so it isn't something shining into the neighbors window. Of course, with a pool full of screaming kids, you probably don't see or even have neighbors anymore. OK, It's now about 3 months after purchase and much use. The kids brought the light into the house and use it to dance (without music!)and really enjoy this added dimension as a lightshow. If you're an old stony type you can have a flashback or gadzillion with it. The downside is that it leaked and stop working, but once only...If you are even slightly handy you can address this problem. Open it as you would to replace the batteries. Remove the small screws with a small screwdriver. ( Ack! I can't find the unit to say which screws; it dosen't matter, there arent that many screws. Sorry.) Pull it open taking care of wiring and lights. Note the small tab at edge for proper resetting/alignment. See the copper rings? They get a slight patina of corrosion on them and the contacts that slide on them(contacts are on facing part you unscrewed and pulled away.) With all parts dry, take an OLD green scrubber pad from your kitchen sink, it being dry also, and lightly clean rings and contacts. You are only trying to clean it; you can possibly rub the copper off of the disc. After cleaning, make sure no small green scrubber bits are on surfaces. Wipe with a paper towel if necessary; NOT your finger. Natural oils from your fingers will corrode copper. Remember tab for proper realignment so it will work properly. I only had to do this once. I had planned to seal rubber seal with a bit of vegetable oil at battery replacing seal if problem persisted, but I haven't had problems thru the pool season. This process is much simpler than the reading, and I only found one reviewer who had this problem besides my one time. I hope this is helpful IF you have this problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: Jnless you're not worried about it lasting- Skip it! Comment: I saw mixed reviews but thought it would be fun for the pool. It does have a beautiful effect on the pool. You have to be careful though it's seals leaked some water into the bulb each time I put it in the water. There are 2 layers for the water to get to before it reaches the electronics. It got bumped by someone, not dunked, just lightly bumped into and it tipped the topside into the water.
The electronics got wet and it didn't work. We let it dry out and a few weeks later tried again and it was working. The platic snaps that close and seal it are showing wear after only a few uses and I expect will break comletely after a couple more uses.
Customer Rating: Summary: Interesting, but not bright enough Comment: Works as advertized, but for me with a blue tile pool the light output is not sufficent to be significant, especially with other outdoor lights on. Maybe it would be fine in a white bottom pool, but I can't say for sure (only have one pool). I'd also like it if one of the modes was to turn on at dusk and then run for the hours specified, but I have to manually turn it on anytime it's to be used.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not all that I expected, but still interesting Comment: I imagined it would be a more powerfull lightning. If you have a small pool, it will work well, but I suggest you to use more than one Aquaglow for better result.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best one I have found Comment: Having had many of these types of lights (mostly solar), I have finally found one that has the features, the power and looks to rank above poor. The auto turn off is a great feature, the lights are bright and the selections of light shows are fun. The motorized settings will run the batteries down (obviously) much faster then the light only settings, but if you wish to create a fun atmosphere, this light will do it.
I gave it five stars because I just do not see how they could improve it, beyond adding an internal rechargeable battery system (not solar). As it is, I am going to purchase two more and have three going at my next pool party.
