Customer Rating: Summary: Miracle for less than $10? Comment: I bought this product because I'm 30 years old and now apparently have GINORMOUS pores. I've spent a lot of money on creams, moisturizers and masks to help my skin condition, but haven't seen great results. I was extremely disappointed today as I looked in the mirror and noticed not only my huge pores, but that I also had a few bumps (I don't know what else to call them) on one of my cheeks. That just drove me nuts! I had bought this mask a few weeks ago, but hadn't opened the box. I was hoping to at least tighten my pores with this product and, surprisingly, I saw instant results! But even more surprising and uplifting was that my little bumps disappeared too! This is my new best friend.
Customer Rating: Summary: Chamomile Infused Comment: "The Greeks called this ancient herb 'Ground Apple' because of its sweet, fruity fragrance. A member of the daisy family, chamomile provides soothing and gentle relief from skin inflammations and rashes and is known to stimulate regeneration of skin tissues. Its sedative qualities have been used for centuries as an antidote for sleeplessness and nightmares, and one old herbal prescribes it for 'hysterical and nervous affections in women."
An excellent product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Makes you tingle! Comment: I like how you can substitute your own liquid ingredient such as water, juice (carrot/tomato) or even green tea to tailor the mask to your needs. This product leaves your skin so smooth and it really is like having a luxurious spa treatment in your very own bedroom. I'm quite disappointed to read that Clorox bought the company, though I appreciate this information because it will definitely influence future purchases.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not so natural anymore! OWNED BY CLOROX NOW! Comment: I love Burt's Bees lip balm, and diaper cream, and lots of their other products, and Burt's Bees USED TO BE a good choice for people trying to make greener choices for themselves and the environment. Not so anymore. Burt's Bees has been bought by CLOROX. Yes, that's right, CLOROX. As usual a decent green company has been sucked up by a major polluter. You can read about it in the New York Times Business section by using your search engine with the terms "Burt's Bees", "Clorox", and "New York Times". Clorox says it wants to learn to be more green. Yeah, sure! They just want a piece of the pie when it comes to taking the money of green conscious consumers. You can bet that they won't be putting the word "Clorox" on the Burt's Bees label! I for one am tired of trying to buy green and ending up padding the wallets of great big polluting corporations. If you want to buy personal products that are better for you and the environment, try using your search engine to search for "Compact for Safe Cosmetics". You will find lists of companies that are the real thing, and not corporate wolves hiding behind a natural label. BYE BYE BURT, WE LOVED YOU!
Customer Rating: Summary: The only Burt's Bees facial product that I can use Comment: I'm no cosmetic expert. In fact I have absolutely zero interest in cosmetics (and don't even wear them) so you know I'm not someone who buys beauty products for fun and for the novelty of it. But I live in the desert where the dry air desiccates your skin so I sometimes have to pick up product for skin care. I got attracted to the Burt's Bees products via their cute and creative in-store displays and then ending up trying a wide range of their products.
I have an additional problem when it comes to beauty products: while the skin on my body gets totally dry, my face is always oily and prone to break-outs. So I have to avoid virtually all of the Burt's Bees facial products because they're based on beeswax and this clogs my pores big-time, even if I scrub my face with bar soap to avoid all possible wax-residue.
But this clay mask is another story altogether. You mix the green clay-powder with a little water to turn it into mud. Then pat it on and go read a book or something for about 20 minutes. The mask will harden on your face, and then you can wash it off. Good points: the clay doesn't stain your hands or clothes nor does it strip too much moisture out of your face once you've washed it off. Of course since there's no beeswax in this product, it leaves no waxy residue. My skin typically feels soft and clean when I've used it. Enjoyable product and highly recommended!
