Customer Rating: Summary: wish it fits Comment: its a really kool scabbard just wish it fits most bokens. its too small to fit my black diato boken but it fit my Polypropylene wakazashi boken just fine. hope it fits my Polypropylene katana when it gets here Customer Rating: Summary: Much nicer than anticipated Comment: I recently purchased this saya for a very nice impact grade Appalachian Hickory bokken that I picked up from Kingfisher (Shinto style). It fit almost perfectly (there was maybe an inch or two of space left in the bottom, but obviously that's not even noticeable). The koiguchi (mouth of the saya) fit perfectly around the habaki (top collar) of the bokken, so there's not really much of a chance of it sliding out accidentally. Additionally, although the saya is made of plastic, they did a pretty good job of adding a texture to it in order to keep it from coming off as cheap. My only real issue with it is that the sageo (scabbard cord) is made of nylon or some sort of polyester; it's REALLY difficult to keep something like that properly tied. Get a nice cotton cord from any fabric store and you'll be much happier with it. Other than that, very nice product, very nice price. Highly recommended for preliminary iaido (art of sword-drawing) practice, prior to getting an iaito (blunt edged, drawing katana).
