The blasts are loud enough for sporting events, etc. Not sure about db level for small maritime crafts. I used it to chase geese off the lawn. It arrived charged and I've so far made some 20 or so blasts and it's holding. One could use tire pressure gauge to see how much air is left and it has to be easy to fill with pump or some cautious use at the gas station. I'm happy with it so far.
