I've used them with my previous 3 pregnancies and would hesitate to go any other route. I tried those doctor-perscribed prenatal vitamins--they made me ill even before I was pregnant! But then, who wouldn't get ill on a pill full of synthetic chemicals? These are food based, and get spaced out through the day to make it a little easier on the tummy and to absorb better than those taken in one whalloping gulp. I'm taking these in anticipation of pregnancy to ensure that my body's got adequate nutrition. It has antioxidants and also a huge array of green foods (wheat grass, etc.) It also has enzyme's and digestive aids which can be a huge help when digestion becomes slowed or difficult during pregnancy.
