Mounted with double-sided tape to a door or window frame, the alarm sounds a piercing 90 dB siren when the magnetic contact separates. When the code is entered on the on/off switch, the alarm is activated/deactivated. This switch operates on and includes three replaceable 1.5-volt button batteries. However, the double sided tape fails miserably to hold the two sides of the alarm to the window/door surface. Indoor house temperatures were normal, no severe cold, heat, or humidity. But upon returning home the first day, one alarm had fallen and rung to the point of a dead battery. Within the first week, all four had fallen and were ringing their alarms -some faintly by that time and others at close to full decibal level.
