I haven't tried them on powder, but on hard pack, they are GREAT! The ice grippers on bottom are very good. The bindings are a little tight in the toe for my high snow boots, but work well with my hiking boots. That would be the only change I would make...adjustable toe strap. They come off easier than they go on. The ice-gripping teeth are well-placed (right in the middle)and very effective on glare ice. Pretty durably built, too. A good deal for the price.
