It does kink occasionally, but much less than others I've tried (that's why I gave it a 4, not a 5.) It seems to me that there is no such thing as a hose that never kinks - but if it only kinks 2-3 times each time it's used rather than several times each time it's used - that's about as good as you can expect in this price range. I've also found what helps eliminate kinks is if the hose is stored on a hose reel after each use - this made a dramatic difference in the less expensive hose I had to use this past summer. Customer Rating: Summary: garden hose for no crank hose reel Comment: Got this hose to go in the Apex No-crank hose reel. Product is of good quality and works great in the hose heel. Hose has a good size rubber stop on the end to prevent hose retracting too far. Like the whole conbination of reel and hose so bought two more.
