I have a Dell Latitude D830 laptop with USB ports on the right side and on the back. This light can plug into any of my USB ports and is just the right brightness to light the entire keyboard. The light is very sturdy with a flexible chrome plated steel cable. The USB connector extends approximately two inches from my USB ports. The light is a bright white LED that emits no heat, so you do not have to worry about being burned by the light.
