Editorial Reviews:

Based on two best selling novels by Louis L'Amour, The Sacketts vividly tells the story of three brothers who migrate West from Tennesswee after the Civil War. Ther exploits abound with the triumphs, tragedies and adventures that characterized the lawless American Western frontier. Voted the Most Authentic Western of the past decade by the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Ojlahoma City, The Sacketts is guaranteed to captivate even the most demanding lover of the Western genre.

Summary: One of the Great Westerns
Comment: This review is of the VHS version. I would have the DVD, but someone is holding up its production. Bummer!

The Sackett Brothers, Tell (Sam Elliott), Orrin (Tom Selleck), and Tye ( Jeff Osterhage) separately leave Tenneessee and head west after the Civil War. Their adventures bring them together in Santa Fe where they must conquer or be conquered. Scenery, costumes, and subplots all appear to be realistic. The cast is well supported by Glenn Ford and Ben Johnson.

This one is a keeper. But where is the DVD edition. Why must we be kept waiting?
