Summary: THE GREATEST HARD ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIME!
Comment: Actually, Led Zeppelin's catalog surpasses any other band's in terms of musical quality, but for an album that is focused on balls to the wall hard rock, Back in Black is IT. Nearly every song is killer, no filler. Well, for me "Let Me Put My Love Into You Baby" and "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" are kind of lame, but the strength of the other tracks just demolishes any of the album's weaknesses. Everybody knows the greatness of "Hells Bells", the title song and "You Shook Me...", but I think an overlooked song is "Have A Drink On Me"...THE GREATEST HARD ROCK SONG EVER! I thought that when I was 14 (when I bought the album) and still think that today (I'm now 41). A bluesy, killer intro riff, catchy chord changes...and that passage from where it builds up after the solo into that SCORCHING last verse (kind of like a bridge at the end of the song)...KICKS A*S!!! That song alone is worth twice the price of the whole album!

So if you're only going to buy one AC/DC album, this is it, hands down. 20 million buyers of this disc are not wrong.

Summary: A Classic
Comment: This is the Quintessential AC/DC album. Anyone who has heard an AC/DC song has probably heard one of the many hits from this album. I haven't gone to a wedding or Company Xmas party(with a DJ) where I haven't heard at least "You Shook Me All Night Long"!

Summary: 5 Stars...c'mon, was there ever any doubt?
Comment: AC/DC is one of those rare bands that all these years later, I can honestly say that I still enjoy listening to--almost as much as I did when I first heard it back in '80. It's also one of the ONLY bands that bring me and my oldest son together...something I cannot say about the music MY Father used to listen to.

Debates have raged for YEARS over who is better, Brian or Bon...? Honestly I love 'em both. While to this day SOME people have a problem being able to distinguish between the two (and some of those people even consider themselves FANS), I noticed the difference the second Brian began singing on the very first track I heard, which I believe was the title track. It took all of maybe 45 seconds for me to become a total convert. As long as I can get that old AC/DC FEEL, I honestly didn't care who sang it.

Originally Back In Black was a tribute album to the late Bon Scott, and at that point nobody in the band had a clue whether or not the record would be well received enough to warrant staying together or splitting up for good. I think virtually everyone was stunned to recoginize that not only did the band pull out all the stops with Back In Black, but the band was far from over. Good thing, too.

This new incarnation is EVERY bit as impressive as everyone is saying it is. I think a LOT of us have heard so-called Re-Mastered CD's that just don't live up to the hype, but that certainly isn't the case here. Those of us who listen to detail almost to the point of being a Geek about it can tell you that the process mastered here with this version truly has out-done themselves. Kudos to the Producers who literally made magic happen. Crisp and clean, very clean. I've been in the broadcasting business now for nearly 20 years and one of the perks and also one of the downfalls is constantly hearing songs recorded digitally, and some older songs recorded analog-style just plain suck. It's painfully obvious when that hiss plays where a recording has or hasn't been either done or done well...but once again, for those of you who go out of your way to look for that sort of dynamic in the recordings you listen to, boy have you have GOT to listen to this one.

While arguments will probably continue to soar over the inclusion of Back In Black as one of the Top-10 Greatest Heavy Metal albums of all time (in my opinion it VERY much deserves to be ON that list), there is NO doubt that this Re-Mastered version is (at this moment anyway) the cream of the crop. Worth EVERY penny for you to upgrade your collection.

Summary: Bon who??
Comment: Best album by ACDC I loved Bon Scott but Brian Johnson is a one in a million replacement. Its so rare for lightning to strike twice for a group after a lead singer goes but here it did. 5 stars best of the best!!!!!!
