It is sturdy and well made. But, it was a little smaller than I expected yet it turned out to be the right size I needed. I gave it four stars as the unwrapping was a real drag. This works great at our house, because the light is cast down toward the reader, but doesn't overlight the room if someone else is dozing on the sofa nearby or watching TV.
