This hang-around-the-neck timer weighs in at a mere 1?? ounces, so you'll barely know the timer is there until a soft staccato of beeps issues from its trim, slender body to signal the alarm. It counts up as well as down, measuring as much as 9 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, and when you're not using it as a timer, it functions as a clock. Reliable and comfortable, this is a timer you'll use more than most others.

Summary: Excellent product - worth the money
Comment: Bought this on the advice of America's Test Kitchen. It is a quality product. Can keep track of 3 different functions. Number keyboard is a big plus, and keys are big enough to see and use. Handy neckstrap keeps you from setting it down and then getting out of hearing range. Makes a good small gift. Finding new uses for it all the time.

Summary: did not receive this item, which i ordered
Comment: Instead, I received the Polder double timer, which is number 89'3'. Not this model which comes on a rope, model number 89'5'. The 893 label was put on the 895 model in the Amazon warehouse, and they must send out by scans, not by checking the products.
I had to speak to several Amazon customer service representatives to straighten this out. IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I had to create a new order to have the black one shipped to me to replace Amazon's mistake. Amazon would not just send the black color if the same item to replace the white, which they said is not presently in stock. The last cust. rep. said the amount of the product would be deducted when it is sent out today. Well, it is 3:30pm PST, and it still has not been shipped to me. It was promised Wednesday delivery, for Thanksgiving, when I spoke to the rep yesterday.
Will update progress.

But it is listed in my Amazon 'rate this item' list, so I thought I'd post my experience with this order.

2nd shipment had nothing in the box. Amazon, after talking with several different customer svc reps, and then the manager, finally arranged a replacement, in black, which was the only color available. It didn't arrive for Thanksgiving, but a week late; the 3rd shipment.
Item works well. Nice to have a clock along with the timer. Versatile, I can attach it to the refrig with the magnet, or wear it round my neck. The face is small, hard to read. Other than that, it's a good timer.

Comment: Arrived in a sealed package and appeared to be new. None of the functions worked correctly. The clock would not hold the time that I input and neither the timer nor the count up button worked. Returned for refund.

Summary: A timer you can hear
Comment: I wanted a timer I could hear over the TV or if I left the room. I thought the lanyard would make this possible. But the ring is loud enough that I haven't needed to use the lanyard yet. I just hang the timer on the refrigerator with it's magnet. A very handy, easy to use, easy to hear timer. I may order another.
