A Hard Day's Night was the first Beatles album of all-original material, and the first to feature George Harrison playing his Rickenbacker electric 12-string guitar (on the opening chord of "A Hard Day's Night," for instance). The distinctive sound of the 12-string inspired countless guitarists including Roger McGuinn and David Crosby of the Byrds. The film from which these songs hail remains a classic combination of happy 1960s naivete and nascent hipster wit. Many of the most important rock bands to emerge in the latter half of the '60s came into being because of A Hard Day's Night's irresistible vibrancy. The tunes flow like the finest red wine, as the title track leads to the glorious harmonica of "I Should Have Known Better" and the powerfully poignant "If I Fell." EMI. 2005.

Customer Rating: Summary: Classic Album Comment: The Beatles by this album were starting to devlop better songs, and were slowly but starting to drift away from the pop music scene. As you A Hard Days Night, is a movie and a good album, and the movie has remained a classic rock movie to this day. Of course the album, A Hard Days Night is really just the soundtrack too the movie but still deserves credit. The title track, "A Hard Days Night", is the best song on this whole album and has a good riff to it. Other good songs on here are, "I Should Of Known Better", and "Cant Buy Me Love". The good songs are enough to raise the low points on this album like, "If I Fell", and more. But this album is still pretty short, its only 29 minutes long barely even a 30 minutes. Its also still a little too poppy but deserves five stars because it has remained a classic album and movie too this day.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beatles classic Comment: It's The Beatles. What more is there to say, really? Okay - it's not a compilation called love or some such nonsense - it's the real deal. The breakout, if you will.
Customer Rating: Summary: One Of Their Best Comment: I have had this before on cassette for years. I'm a beatle fan. I think this is their best probably from the early years (at least the first 4 albums) but it is subjective. So many songs are just fun and upbeat or just well done. You know the songs most likely already.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Musical Supernova Comment: I have listened to every Beatles album over and over and over again. I have had times where each of the albums have been my favorite and where each album I have been sick of. I have endlessly played and replayed passages from nearly all the songs to grok on what makes them tick.
After such a thorough "wringing out" of each album, it is my opinion that a Hard Day's Night is the greatest Beatle album in that it had the greatest intensity of creativity in the shortest time span. It was an blindingly awesome roman candle of musical output. Any one of the songs on this album could've been a crown jewel for any band or artist; any of these tunes had the potential to be the one hit that could make their career, if properly arranged and promoted.
With Hard Day's Night, in an amazingly short time span, the Beatles made an entire album of crown jewels.
Wow.
What was even more mind-blowing was that this wasn't their first album.
Lots of groups come off gangbusters on their first album, because they've had a long time to incubate the songs. A Hard Day's Night was the Beatles' third album, the one after the long-accumulated initial musical cream was skimmed off. This was the "Omigod!" album, the album that bespoke of a veritable North Sea oilfield of yet-untapped talent.
Customer Rating: Summary: Long live the Beatles! Comment: This CD was AMAZING! It may not be the best Beatles album (Help! and Rubber Soul are, in my opinion), but it's The Beatles, so of course, you gotta love it! 5/5 stars!
