Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent home video - 4.5 stars Comment: Skid Rows star really couldn't of blasted into the sky any faster if they'd had a Peacekeeper missile strapped to their career. Attacking the record buying public with a heap of hooks, a charismatic frontman who was a hit with the ladies, basically a 1989 version of David Lee Roth but with better pipes, the band just hit home run after home run. This 1990 home video was part of the regular release schedule for Skid Row - a band who knew to strike while the iron was hot and to put out something on a regular basis for that all important column inch quota.
Running for 1 hr 40 minutes this video has a stack of behind the scenes footage. I hate this stuff. Just can't get into it. The weird thing is such is the aura of optimism that surrounded this band and just about anything they touched it's actually one of the few times when I can honestly say that I really enjoyed seeing the shenanigans. Because you get the somewhat scary impression that this sort of nonsense wasn't necessarily put on just for the cameras. I've a worrying suspicion this was real life for Skid Row circa 89-92...
The real meat and potatoes of this release comes in a total of 12 live performances, starting with Big Guns (great intro for this - I won't spoil it for you), and from there running through a clutch of tunes not only from their multi platinum debut but also featuring a bunch of cover versions such as Cold Gin, Blitzkrieg Bop and Train Kept A Rollin'. All attacked with the sort of vigour you'd expect of a bunch of young dudes let loose with green light for just about anything they wanted to do.
Tagged onto the end of the video are the clips for all four of the singles off their chart conquering debut. This is a nice touch and really adds some value to the package. Even with all the tomfoolery going on in the backstage areas and in hotel rooms, these videos tip the balance of the release into being about the music which was actually quite a bit more anarchic and punk influenced than many at the time noticed.
I don't know how likely it is that there are many of these old VHS tapes doing the rounds nowadays. But if it's your only chance of getting to see these live performances then try to track one down. Alas mine died - attacked by mould. So whatever you do learn from my mistake and keep any VHS tapes you still have away from mouldy areas!
Customer Rating: Summary: Skid row in their high times, Sebastian and all. A great piece of nastalgia from a fun time in hard rock/metal Comment: I got my hands on a copy this tape when A big chain rental company decided to empty out their VHS collection, and at $2, it was cheaper than renting a new movie, and totally worth having the tape in my collection. A great collection of live performances as well as footage of the band behind the scenes, this video rocks. It also contains 4 videos "youth gone wild, piece of me, 18 & life, I remember you, making this a must have for any 80 headbangers collection. Check it out.
Customer Rating: Summary: My favorite Band Vid of All Time Comment: Growing up in the 80's, I was exposed to a lot of music. Some good, some bad. Skid Row remains my favorite band from that era. Their music struck a chord inside me that has yet to be silenced. Bach's vocals, Scotti Hill's guitar, Bolan's nose ring. With that said, this home video of music vids, backstage footage, road clips and altogether insanity is the most watched tape in my collection. From live performances to Scotti Hill lipsynching with a hairdryer, from Sebastian Bach attacking a fan who hit him in the head with a glass to Rachel Bolan walking out of a stall with a toilet seat liner on his head, this video provides awesome music, great live performances, juvenile antics and memories to hold forever. No Skid Row fan's collection is complete without it. 6 out of 5 stars!

I love how the videos wern't like 40 second excerpts but preety much full versions. This Video rocks and is a MUST HAVE if you are a skid row fan.
Customer Rating: Summary: Robert's Review Comment: Good video, great live footage, and Sebastian's enconter with the bottle makes this video worth buying.
