Last minute packing is something most of us do. And we have various reasons as to why we do this in the first place, like we have no time but now, we lost track of the date, we thought we had enough time to spare, etc. etc. etc. Unless we have someone to help us with our travel packing, here are is a tip on how to deal with last minute travel packing.

Think only of the essentials. If you really want to survive a last minute packing escapade, think first of the things you cannot do without. Underwear, of course is a given (unless of course you are planning on just letting the wind flow down there, or you plan to go underwear shopping sometime in the trip.)

You should also consider bath and hygiene products as well. If you are indeed a frequent traveler, you would know already that there are some places where convenience stores are rarities, and there are some places to stay where they will not provide these for you. If you pack your own, you have lessened your worries by a great deal.

Clothes are part of your essentials. Now this here is a bit tricky since not everything can be crammed in a number of suitcases. Again, think only of essentials if you are doing some last minute packing. Think of your schedule and your trip’s planned activities. If you are merely going on a holiday, comfortable wear and shoes should be your first priority. Take the less bulky ones and try to consider the possible weather or climate of the place or places you are visiting. In any case, your schedule may not be so hectic and you might even afford yourself of some time to go clothes shopping if you want. And most importantly, call your local authorities to find out what’s acceptable to bring through the airport.

Now, if you are going on a business trip, you need appropriate clothes. If all your scheduled tasks lean towards business hours, you would need a set of your professional clothes. Try to mix and match suits (if you can); this way, you don’t need to bring a lot and still look like you have brought several suits for your meetings. If you do have something scheduled for the night time, perhaps you could bring something from your closet that you would think would be appropriate for the occasion.

However, we recommend that you take some time off to buy yourself an ensemble to suit you. After all, these functions are still part of your business dealings and you would want to impress people with your presence. Yes, there is still such a thing as making a great first impression in front of your colleagues and peers.

And lastly, bring your cash, your cards, your house keys, your cell phone and other gadgets (if you need your laptop, etc.) your identifications (passports, driver’s license, etc.) and if you are traveling by plane, don’t forget your tickets!
